Our story and evolution

Where we started
20+ years of precision, premium service, and expertise in complex cases.
A2 began in dentistry, aesthetic medicine, and oral and maxillofacial surgery. We learned to notice the smallest details, work with exceptional precision, and create an outstanding patient experience.
Where we are today
This approach has evolved into a system.
We bring together aesthetics and function, sleep, mental health, recovery, and longevity — engaging focused expertise around one person and one strategy.
Where we are going
We think ahead.
We help people identify risks and opportunities earlier, make informed decisions, and take proactive action.

For many years, my team and I have worked with people who carry significant responsibility and for whom time is the most valuable resource.

Ten years ago, our conversations focused mainly on preventive medicine, genetics, the microbiome, and longevity technologies.

Over the past five years, priorities have changed dramatically. Today, the main concerns are sleep, energy, mental health, trauma recovery, and the ability to remain resilient under constant pressure.

This is why, at A2, we bring together doctors, researchers, and technologies not around an isolated diagnosis, but around the individual, their resources, and their priorities.

My role is to understand the person and the challenge, remove what is unnecessary, and create a personalized strategy — turning a complex challenge into a clear sequence of steps, supporting its implementation, and creating a different experience of interacting with medicine.

Complex medicine should be understandable. This is the kind of system we are building at A2.

Liudmyla Turova, MD, DSc · Ukraine

Clinical geneticist · Nutrigenetics & metabolic health · Personalized medicine · A2 advisor

Dr. Turova helps connect genetics, metabolism, microbiome, nutrition, and — when clinically relevant — medication response into decisions that can actually be used in everyday life.

Liudmyla Turova, MD, DSc · Ukraine

Dr. Liudmyla Turova

No universal diets. No unnecessary stacks of supplements. No generic advice to simply “sleep more and eat better.”
Instead: clear priorities, carefully selected interventions, and a personalized health strategy built around the individual.

Liudmyla Turova is a clinical geneticist, Associate Professor at Bogomolets National Medical University, and a specialist in medical genetics, dietetics, immunology, allergology, and personalized medicine. She is President of the Association of Personalized and Genomic Medicine and founder of the School of Neurodietology. Her clinical work includes children, adults, and couples planning a pregnancy.

Her strength is not simply interpreting a genetic report. It is understanding how genetic characteristics may interact with metabolism, nutrition, allergic and immune responses, lifestyle, and the individual’s clinical history.

The result is not another folder of test results. It is a set of practical decisions:which risks deserve attention nowwhich findings do not require unnecessary interventionhow nutrition may be adapted to individual metabolismhow microbiome findings can inform personalized supportwhich deficiencies should be correctedhow supplements and medications can be coordinated more carefullywhich priorities may have the greatest long-term impact

Contribution to A2. Dr. Turova was one of the key experts who shaped A2’s approach to advanced personalized diagnostics. We consult her on complex cases involving hereditary risks, metabolic disturbances, nutritional reactions, immune and allergic conditions, and situations where multiple test results need to be combined into one coherent strategy.

Our relationship goes beyond referring patients. A2 doctors and team members undergo their own genetic and metabolic assessments with Dr. Turova, discuss nutrigenetics and microbiome findings, and apply personalized recommendations in their own lives. This means we know her approach from both sides — as clinicians and as patients.

Together with experts such as Dr. Turova, A2 can bring several layers of information into one system: genetic characteristics · hereditary risks · metabolic markers · microbiome · biological age · laboratory findings · nutrition · medication and supplement review · lifestyle factors.
The goal is to understand what matters for this particular person, identify the most important priorities, and create a clear personalized strategy for the next stage of life.
Not more data. Better decisions.

Professor, MD, DSc at Bogomolets National Medical University. CEO of the Global Longevity Institute and Head of the Hepatology Center at the Verum Expert Clinic. Founder of the School of Microbiome and the Longevity Club.

Prof. Elina Manzhalii

Prof. Manzhalii approaches what she calls cellular detox not as a juice cleanse, restrictive diet, or universal IV protocol. It is a medically guided strategy that considers liver function, metabolism, medications, nutritional deficiencies, microbiome, and the body’s capacity to recover.

No fasting. No random combinations of supplements. No fashionable procedures without a clear purpose.
Instead: diagnostics, carefully coordinated interventions, and a personalized recovery and longevity strategy.

The liver is more than a detox organ. Elina Manzhalii is a Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, gastroenterologist and hepatologist. She leads the Hepatology Expert Centre at VERUM and serves as CEO of the Global Longevity Institute. Her professional work connects contemporary hepatology with metabolic health, nutrition, microbiome research, recovery, and healthy longevity.

Her educational and scientific programs explore the relationships between the liver, microbiome, hormones, brain health, obesity, metabolic dysfunction, and biological aging. Her published work also includes research on steatotic liver disease, probiotics and postbiotics, metabolic disorders, and liver regeneration.

In Prof. Manzhalii’s approach, cellular detox is a physician-led assessment of:liver function and structural changesmetabolic load and insulin resistancemedication and supplement burdennutritional deficienciesmicrobiome and digestive healthrecovery after illness or intensive treatmentage-related and lifestyle risks

The goal is not to “flush toxins” from the body. The goal is to reduce avoidable strain, support natural metabolic and detoxification pathways, and create the conditions for more effective recovery.

Contribution to A2. We turn to Prof. Manzhalii when a patient needs more than an isolated recommendation — when several diagnostic, therapeutic, nutritional, and recovery protocols must be combined into one safe and logical strategy. Her support was especially valuable during and after the COVID-19 pandemic.

She also helps us evaluate emerging longevity technologies critically: what is clinically meaningful, what requires more evidence, and what may be unnecessary for a particular person. We particularly value her readiness to become part of the multidisciplinary team around a patient and convert a complex clinical picture into a clear sequence of actions.

Dr. Richard Louis Miller

Mental HealthTrauma Recovery

Dr. Richard Louis Miller, MA, PhD · USA

Clinical psychologist · Renowned author · Mind-body health · Psychedelic medicine · A2 advisor

At 87, Dr. Miller remains active in clinical practice, teaching, and patient care. He previously served on the faculty of Stanford University and the University of Michigan and has spent more than six decades exploring how psychotherapy, mind-body medicine, lifestyle, and emerging therapeutic approaches can support real psychological recovery.

Dr. Richard Louis Miller, MA, PhD · USA

Dr. Richard Louis Miller

In the 1980s, the Cokenders Alcohol and Drug Program founded by Dr. Miller reported helping more than 1,500 people detoxify without medication or hospitalization, with an 86% two-year success rate.

More than medication. Dr. Richard Louis Miller is a clinical psychologist, author, and educator with more than 65 years of clinical experience. He has served on the faculty of Stanford University and the University of Michigan and advised the President’s Commission on Mental Health. His professional biography also includes consulting work with the U.S. Department of Justice and the California State Assembly.

His approach considers the whole person: trauma · thoughts and beliefs · physical stress responses · relationships · addiction · lifestyle · meaning · the ability to regain agency over one’s life.
Medication may be appropriate and clinically important. But psychological recovery should not automatically be reduced to long-term pharmacology when psychotherapy, lifestyle change, mind-body work, and other evidence-informed approaches may also play an important role.

A different history of addiction recovery. In the 1980s, Dr. Miller founded and directed the Cokenders Alcohol and Drug Program at Wilbur Hot Springs. Its model combined humanistic psychology, physical recovery, social rehabilitation, and the creation of a healthier long-term lifestyle. Dr. Miller also created and directed the Health Sanctuary at Wilbur Hot Springs for 48 years — a place where psychological care, physical health, restorative practices, and environment were considered parts of one system.

New approaches to trauma and depression. Dr. Miller is a long-standing author and educator in psychedelic medicine. His books explore the therapeutic potential and risks of MDMA, psilocybin, LSD, ayahuasca, and other psychedelic-assisted approaches in trauma, depression, addiction, and end-of-life care.
His position: mental-health care should remain open to carefully studied alternatives for people who have not received sufficient benefit from standard approaches. These methods require trained professionals, clinical safeguards, careful patient selection, and an appropriate legal setting.

Contribution to A2. Our relationship with Dr. Miller developed through professional dialogue and education in Ukraine around trauma recovery and MDMA-assisted therapy. Dr. Miller helps A2 think more deeply about:psychological trauma and PTSDanxiety and depressive statesaddiction and behavioral patternsmind-body relationshipsnon-pharmacological recovery toolspsychedelic-assisted approaches under appropriate clinical conditionsrebuilding safety, clarity, meaning, and personal agency

We consult him when a person’s situation cannot be understood through one diagnosis or one standard protocol. At 87, his continued practice, teaching, writing, and intellectual curiosity are also a living example of active longevity.
Not one diagnosis. Not one medication. One person and a personalized path to recovery.

PainMigraineNeurology

Prof. Vadym Biloshytskyi, MD, DSc · Ukraine

Neurosurgeon · Pain and migraine specialist · Professor · A2 clinical advisor

Our collaboration began with an interdisciplinary headache and migraine forum organized by A2 in Dnipro. Since then, Professor Biloshytskyi has remained the person we turn to when a neurological case is complex and a clear, practical decision is needed.

Prof. Vadym Biloshytskyi, MD, DSc · Ukraine

Prof. Vadym Biloshytskyi

He combines more than 30 years of neurosurgical experience with contemporary pain medicine — from migraine and botulinum toxin therapy to anti-CGRP treatment, neuromodulation, and programmable neurostimulators.

When treating the symptom is not enough. Prof. Vadym Biloshytskyi is a Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, neurosurgeon of the highest qualification category, and specialist in pain medicine. He is co-founder and Chief Physician of the SPRAVNO Pain Medicine Centre and has held senior clinical and scientific roles at the Romodanov Institute of Neurosurgery.

His approach begins by identifying the mechanism behind the pain. Pain may be caused by nerve damage, central sensitization, migraine biology, muscular dysfunction, trauma, surgery, amputation, or a combination of several factors.
The goal is not simply to reduce the pain score for a few days. It is to understand what maintains the condition, select the appropriate intervention, restore function, and prevent repeated ineffective treatment.

Contemporary pain medicine:botulinum toxin therapy for migraine and other neurological conditionsanti-CGRP monoclonal antibody therapytreatment of chronic neuropathic and phantom paindiagnostic and therapeutic injectionsneuromodulationprogrammable neurostimulationmultidisciplinary pain-management strategiesAccording to his official SPRAVNO profile, he was the first physician in Ukraine to introduce anti-CGRP monoclonal antibody injections for migraine and programmable neurostimulator implantation for chronic pain. He is also an invited lecturer for the MSc Pain Management programme at University College London.

Contribution to A2. Our professional relationship began many years ago, when A2 organized an interdisciplinary forum on headache and migraine for neurologists, dentists, and aesthetic-medicine physicians in Dnipro. That meeting reflected an idea that remains important to A2 today: headache and facial pain do not always belong to one specialty — the nervous system, muscles, temporomandibular joints, bite, sleep, psychological stress, previous trauma, and medication history may all be involved.

We turn to him when:the diagnosis remains unclearseveral specialists offer conflicting recommendationsstandard treatment has not produced a stable resulta neurosurgical or pain-medicine opinion is requiredthe patient needs a multidisciplinary consultation or an independent second opinionNot another temporary solution. Prof. Federico Hernández-Alfaro · Spain

Facial and orthognathic surgeon · Mentor · International collaborator

Watching Prof. Hernández-Alfaro operate is like watching a jeweler at work — every movement calculated, nothing wasted. He performs roughly 200 orthognathic surgeries a year and is one of very few surgeons in the world for whom this is the sole specialty.

Prof. Federico Hernández-Alfaro · Spain

Prof. Federico Hernández-Alfaro

Included in the World’s Top 2% Scientists list compiled by Stanford University and Elsevier.

He is Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Director of Instituto Maxilofacial at Centro Médico Teknon. His approach combines advanced digital planning, minimally invasive surgery, and an integrated understanding of the face — addressing not only aesthetics and symmetry, but also bite, jaw position, and upper airway function.

Contribution to A2. Our professional collaboration has developed over many years through shared treatment planning, international patient cases, and time spent together in the operating room. Observing Professor Hernández-Alfaro’s precision helped shape A2’s integrated approach to the face — where aesthetics, function, occlusion, and breathing are considered as one system.

We refer patients to him when orthognathic surgery needs to achieve more than facial harmony: restoring function, improving the upper airway, and supporting the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea.

Dr. Christian Coachman

Face & SmileDigital PlanningPredictable Treatment

Dr. Christian Coachman · Brazil

Founder of Digital Smile Design · Dentist · Educator · A2 mentor

Christian Coachman did not simply introduce A2 to a new technology. He changed the way we think. His Digital Smile Design philosophy taught us to begin with the intended result, relate it to the person’s face, smile, and function, and only then determine which clinical procedures are actually needed.

Dr. Christian Coachman · Brazil

Dr. Christian Coachman

For the patient, this means more than seeing an attractive digital image. It means being able to understand, discuss, and help shape the treatment goal before irreversible treatment begins.
For A2, this was not simply a new digital workflow. It was a revolution in thinking.

Begin with the result. Dr. Christian Coachman is the founder of Digital Smile Design and an internationally recognized educator in digital, aesthetic, and interdisciplinary dentistry. His approach brought facial analysis, smile aesthetics, function, digital planning, clinical communication, and the patient’s expectations into one integrated system.
The central principle is simple: do not begin with individual procedures — begin with a clear vision of the final result.

Digital Smile Design is a planning discipline that helps the clinical team answer essential questions before treatment:How should the future smile relate to the entire face? What result will look natural for this particular person? Is the proposed change compatible with function and bite?Which procedures are truly necessary? In what sequence should different specialists work? The digital tools support the process. They are not the purpose of it.

What this changes for the patient. The DSD approach makes it possible to create a visual and clinical reference before irreversible stages begin: see a digital simulation of the intended smile, evaluate how it relates to the face, discuss shape and proportions, preview elements of the result through a mock-up, and understand the sequence of treatment.
The patient is not a passive observer. The patient becomes part of the planning process.

Contribution to A2. After meeting Christian and training the A2 team in the DSD philosophy, we fundamentally changed the way we approach aesthetic and complex dental treatment. We learned to build the clinical pathway backwards from the goal. Different specialists gained a shared visual reference, communication with the patient became clearer, and each procedure became part of one strategy rather than an isolated intervention.

Alongside microscope-enhanced dentistry and interdisciplinary diagnostics, the DSD philosophy became one of the foundations of A2. For us, he is more than a teacher. He is one of the people who helped A2 move from performing separate procedures to designing complete, personalized treatment strategies.
Not a collection of procedures. One result, planned from the beginning.

Dr. Bernd Schuster

ENTFunctional & Aesthetic Rhinosurgery

Dr. Bernd Schuster · Germany

ENT & facial plastic surgeon · Functional-aesthetic nasal surgery · A2 clinical partner and friend

His distinctive strength is the ability to combine precise ENT diagnostics, functional surgery, and a refined understanding of facial proportion within one coherent plan. His clinical position is clear: a beautiful result must not come at the cost of breathing — lasting aesthetics begins with function.

Dr. Bernd Schuster · Germany

Dr. Bernd Schuster

For A2, he is more than a trusted clinical partner. After the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Bernd was one of the first people to call us and offer his help.
Some partnerships begin with professional respect. The most meaningful ones are revealed by who calls when circumstances are at their hardest.

A nose is never only about its shape. Dr. Bernd Schuster is a German specialist in otorhinolaryngology, facial plastic surgery, and specialized ENT surgery based in the centre of Munich. His clinical focus includes functional-aesthetic rhinoplasty, septoplasty, minimally invasive ENT surgery, endoscopic sinus surgery, nasal reconstruction, and procedures addressing nasal obstruction and sleep-related breathing problems.

His approach begins with a principle that is also fundamental to A2: function is not a compromise made after aesthetics. It is the foundation of a lasting aesthetic result.
Bernd describes his planning as working from the inside out: first the structure must be stable and the function understood — septum, nasal valves, turbinates, mucosa, sinuses, airflow; only then can the surgeon refine the bridge, tip, profile, and the relationship between the nose and the face.

Modern surgery without unnecessary intervention:functional-aesthetic rhinoplastyseptoplastyturbinate reductionfunctional endoscopic sinus surgeryballoon sinuplastynasal reconstructionminimally invasive and non-surgical correction in selected casessurgery for snoring and sleep-related breathing disordersHis private-practice philosophy emphasizes advanced diagnostics, individual planning, personal attention, and quality rather than volume.

Contribution to A2. We turn to Bernd when a patient wants to improve the appearance of the nose, restore comfortable nasal breathing, or understand why a previous treatment has not produced a stable result. Bernd helps us move from a patient’s wish or symptom to a precise and realistic surgical strategy. We value his ability to communicate directly, understand demanding expectations, and remain honest about what can — and cannot — be achieved.

Shared values beyond medicine. We share a genuine interest in contemporary art, design, proportion, and the details that change how a person experiences a space, an object, or a face. Beauty is not decoration. It is balance, restraint, and respect for function.

After the beginning of the full-scale war, Bernd was one of the first people to contact us and offer comprehensive help. He did not wait for a formal request or for a convenient moment. For A2, that response said as much about him as any professional title could.
Expertise creates professional respect. Character creates trust.
